I make these delicious tortillas at least once a week for my family! They are more affordable than store bought, and once you taste them, you’ll never go back.
Ingredients
-2.5 cups all purpose flour
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp baking powder
-4 tbsp salted butter (softened)
-1 cup warm water (from the tap)
Mix dry ingredients first. Then incorporate butter. Slowly add water, mixing with your hands. Once mixed together, knead for about 2-3 minutes. Place dough ball into the bowl, and cover with a tea towel for 10 minutes.
If you’re cooking with cast iron, go ahead and start heating it now!
Lay out dough on a floured surface and cut into 12 equal size balls. Roll them our one at a time, moving them 1/4 turn each time to keep them in a circle shape.
Cook on medium/high heat for about 2 minutes each side. Use olive oil if needed.
Note: Be careful stacking raw circles together while waiting to cook as they warm then can stick together.
